General Notes: Husband - Matthew W. Shannon


He was born in Connoquenessing Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and resided in his birthplace until 1890, when he retired to Mt. Chestnut. He followed agricultural pursuits through all his active years. For many years he filled township offices, being school director, tax collector, auditor, constable and supervisor.
He and his wife were members of the Mt. Chestnut United Presbyterian Church.
