General Notes: Husband - Noah Shattuck


He served in the war of 1812, commanding a company stationed at Fort Warren, from September 19 to November 30, 1814. He was selectman, assessor and over-seer of the poor in Groton, Massachusetts, from 1817 until 1824, when he declined further election; was town clerk from 1819 to 1822; representative to the Massachusetts legislature in 1824; and justice of the peace. He was frequently chosen as administrator of estates and guard-ian of children. He owned a large farm and was prosperous as well as prominent.
