General Notes: Husband - Hon. Joseph Shippen


He was in Braddock's army in 1755, and at the taking of Fort Duquesne.
He was judge of Common Pleas Court at Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

He was commissioned Colonel in the Provincial Army in 1758, and served in the expedition that captured Fort Du Quesne; commissioned Secretary of the Provincial Council of Pennsylvania in 1762, and was appointed Judge of Lancaster Court in 1789.

entered the Provincial army in 1753, rose to the rank of colonel, and served in Gen. Forbes' expedition, which resulted in the capture of Fort Duquesne. He returned to Philadelphia in 1761, and in 1762 was appointed secretary of the province. He was appointed judge of Lancaster Court in 1789,
