General Notes: Husband - Peter Shumaker

A native of Germany, he came to America in early manhood and arrived at Charleston, South Carolina. He made his way to the state of Pennsylvania, and after his marriage settled in Beaver County. He was the proprietor of a tavern, located on what became Third street, Beaver. When he was quite advanced in years he traveled alone to Kansas, and died at Atchison.
