General Notes: Husband - David Porter Siggins


He served in the Civil War in Co. D, 111th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, and rendered distinguished assistance to the northern cause, taking part in nineteen engagements. He was wounded at Antietam Sept. 17, 1862. He was killed at the battle of Peach Tree Creek, in Georgia, by a bullet which passed through a pocket Testament, to his heart, causing instant death. The Testament later was in the possession of his brother Nathaniel Siggins of Youngsville.
