General Notes: Husband - Bernard Wolff Slagle

He graduated from Washington College in 1854, studied Theology in the Western Theological Seminary in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, from which institution he graduated and was licensed to preach in 1860, when he went West. He left the first place he went to because of his pronounced Union and Abolition ideas. He then went to Defiance, Ohio, where he became Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of that place in 1862 and continued there until he retired and was made Pastor Emeritus in 1900, in all 47 years.
