He and his wife came from County Tyrone, Ireland, to Washington County, Pennsylvania, in 1801, and settled on a farm near West Middletown, in Hopewell township, where they passed the rest of their pioneer lives, dying at an advanced age. They were Presbyterians of the Covenanter school.
