General Notes: Husband - Adam Smith


He was a native of Rockingham County, Virginia, came with his parents to what is now Summit township, in 1796, and removed with them to Indiana. In 1830 he returned to Butler County and settled in Centre township. He cleared a farm of 200 acres, improved it with good buildings and resided there until his death. He was a member of the United Presbyterian church, and in politics, was originally a Whig, and afterwards a Republican.
