General Notes: Husband - Lowrey H. West


He and three brothers inherited the old family homestead in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, which they farmed until 1870, when they sold the farm to the Homestead Improvement company.

He was a descendant of prominent old families of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, of which he and his wife were members. He was president of the Homestead cemetery, and engaged in real estate, owning considerable property in Homestead and the western states.

For many years he was interested in real estate business at Homestead, Pennsylvania, in which he was quite successful. He also had property interests in portions of the western states. Both he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian church, in which he served as an elder for a number of years.
