General Notes: Husband - John Wills

He was a native of France, and came to America about the middle of the eighteenth century. His name was Wills in the old country, but on coming to America he married a German woman named Sowash, and he changed his name to that form. He settled in Maryland. He and his wife had four children.

General Notes: Wife - [Unk] Sowash

The Sowash family were descended from the French Huguenots. The family belonged to Alsace Lorraine and after the repeal of the Edict of Nantes moved to Holland, thence emigrated to this country more than two centuries ago [1906], settling upon the James river.
