General Notes: Husband - John C. Stevenson

He received a limited education in the district schools, and being the eldest son, the greater portion of the farm work fell to his share. After marriage he and his wife settled on the home farm one mile north of Bulger, Washington County, Pennsylvania, which had been in the possession of the family since 1809. He followed farming and stock raising, and also devoted some attention to the dairy business. In politics he was a Democrat, and held various township offices; in religion he and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian Church at Midway, Washington County.
