General Notes: Husband - Thomas Beard

---

He came to Venango County, PA, from Westmoreland County and settled on a tract of six hundred acres, in 1796. He served in the War of 1812, and lived to be over eighty years of age. Originally buried on the home farm, his body was moved to the cemetery in Clintonville about 1888.

A sur­veyor by profession, he purchased a tract of land in Clinton township, Venango County, PA, for which he paid six hundred dollars, and settled upon this land about 1796. He served in Captain McManigal's company in the war of 1812, and was one of the pioneer justices of the peace of that part of the county.

He died in 1864. [HVC 1890, 986]
