The Stewart family came to Venango County, PA, about 1855, John Henry Stewart settling on a farm in Irwin Township, and Francis M. Stewart first locating at Clinton­ville, joining his father after two years. They developed the property as a dairy farm, and it continued to be so operated for years, father and son remaining there until they died. [CAB, 920]
