General Notes: Husband - Nehemiah Stokely


He was a native of Virginia and first came to western Pennsylvania as a soldier in a company which was sent out against the Indians. He served as justice of the peace in 1782 and was for many years a very prominent military man in South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County.
