Eloise Z. Stover, 84, of 7 East Second St., Oil City, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Oil City Presbyterian Home. Born Nov. 25, 1919, in Van, she was the daughter of Ralph E. and K. Exley Ziegler, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Stover was a 1937 graduate of Cranberry High School and a 1939 graduate of Feller Cosmetology School. She was employed at Gibbs and Hovis Beauty Shop in Oil City. Worked as a receptionst in the office of Dr. John T. Rightor.
Mrs. Stover was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, where she served as an elder, taught Sunday School in the primary department, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women Association and the afternoon circle. She also belonged to the YWCA and AARP.
Mrs. Stover was married Sept. 2, 1941, to Marshall R. Stover, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1975. She is survived by a daughter, Cherie E. Wessell and husband Dennis E. of Oil City; a son, Terry R. Stover and his wife, Darcy Melat Stover of Van; five grandchildren Chad Stover, Kayla Stover, Lexi Stover, Shaun Wessell and Melat Wessell; one brother, Donald D. Ziegler and his wife, Audrey, of Van; one aunt, Helen Exley of Van; two sisters-in-laws, Dora Ziegler of President and June Ziegler of Marianne; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs Stover was preceded in death by two brothers, Nyle D. Ziegler and Robert B. Ziegler.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City with the Rev. Howard S. Gasto of the church, officiating.
Interment will be in Hickman-Stover Cemetery in Fertigs.
