She retired from school teaching after 49 years of dedicated service to children. She taught for quite a few years in the Third Ward School in Franklin, Pennsylvania. She was rated as an excellent teacher with a kind but firm manner coupled with a delightful sense of humor which enabled her to reach children with all types of learning needs. She was a graduate of Clarion State College, Clarion, Pennsylvania. She, along with the other members of her family in Rocky Grove, was most active in the Rocky Grove Evangelical Church where she taught a Sunday School Class.
