General Notes: Husband - Jacob Stroble


He was a soldier in the Civil war, enlisting from Westmoreland County, Pennslvania, August 18, 1861, in Company L, Eleventh Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was with his regiment in all its engagements until July 4, 1863, when at Gettysburg, while on picket duty, he was killed by a sharpshooter. He was shot through the stomach and died a few hours later. He was acting orderly of his company.
