General Notes: Husband - James Wilbur Vaughn


He was a graduate of the Greenville High School, Eastman Commercial College, Poughkeepsie, New York, and also of the Carriage Drafting Department of the New York Technical School. In 1873 he entered his father's factory as an apprentice, completing the full course in the wood department, and in 1876 became a partner in the firm of W. A. Vaughn & Son. He was the patentee of several inventions pertaining to vehicles, three being manufactured by the firm; and from which he received large royalties from other manufacturers.
