General Notes: Husband - Henry C. Tarr

He was reared in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania, obtaining a good education in the local schools, and he found his life work in the care of the family property, which under his efficient management continued to be valuable both as agricultural and oil territory. He and his sisters Henrietta and Jennie retained ownership of the place, and the former resided there, assisting him in its management. The land was bountifully supplied with living springs, the buildings being situated at the largest, which flowed with almost enough force for a mill stream, the fine water supply being a most advantageous feature. Mr. Tarr made a specialty of stock raising for a number of years, keeping a large quantity and giving particular attention to this branch of the work. Practically all his time is given to the care of the farm, with few outside interests. He voted the Republican ticket, and was interested in the success of the party and the selection of good men for office, but took no direct part in public affairs.
