General Notes: Husband - Capt. James Thompson


He was the well-known Indian fighter who lived in Spruce Creek, Union County, Pennsylvania, and in 1781 was captured by the Indians and carried to Canada with a Miss Young, who was sold in Montreal to a man named Young, who proved to be her cousin. James Thompson escaped, and returning to his family, removed them to Chester County. He subsequently located in Buffalo Township, Union County, and died at the home of his son-in-law Gideon Smith, at the mouth of Little Buffalo near Jersey Shore, on , aged 93 years, 9 months and 9 days
