General Notes: Husband - William Turner

Near the beginning of the 1800's, he left Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and settled on a farm in Butler County that would later be owned by his grandson, John M. Turner. He came by land with his stock; and sent his wife and children with part of the household goods up the river in a keel-boat. The boat upset, and his wife and two children were drowned. One child was saved by getting on a feather bed, which floated. Mr. Turner afterward married again. [HBC 1883, 407]
