General Notes: Husband - John Tuttle

He belonged to an old Connecticut family, and was himself an excellent mechanic, being the author of several patents, but, like most inventors, failed to acquire a fortune by them. He built a steamboat for the Allegheny River, but, owing to an accident, it was soon destroyed. He, too, died at the age of sixty-two years.
