General Notes: Husband - Peter Wilson

He learned the trade of a tanner, came up to Spring Mills, Pennsylvania, May 18, 1825, and started in connection with James Duncan and John Forster the tannery at Spring Mills, which he carried on jointly with them until 1832, when he bought them out and then carried on the business himself until 1865. When Mr. Wilson came up their nearest Presbyterian Church was at Sinking Creek (Centre Hill), until the church was built at Spring Mills in 1841.
When the Union Sabbath-school was organized in 1828, Mr. Wilson was its first treasurer, and became assistant superintendent in 1844, and superintendent in 1853.
