He was educated in the public schools of Butler, Pennsylvania, Lehigh University, College of Mines, from which he was graduated in 1921 with the degree of Engineer of Mining. He took a special course at Columbia University, New York. Mr. Vogeley became associated with his father in the real estate and insurance business, and also became identified with the coal-mining business as an operator. The real estate business was established by his father in 1890, and was continued by him until his death, when it was changed in title to the Vogeley Insurance Agency. The original location was at No. 247 South Main Street, but later the office was in the Butler Savings and Trust Building. The Vogeley Agency was one of the oldest of its kind in Butler County.
Mr. Vogeley was also secretary and director of the Cottage Hill Land Company.
In politics he was a Republican. He was a member of the Student Army Training Corps, and his college fraternity was the Kappa Sigma. He was a member of the Sterling Club, of Butler, of the Butler Country Club, the Kiwanis Club, and of the Board of Commerce, of Butler.
