General Notes: Husband - Samuel Wallace


He grew to manhood on the home farm, and in the Civil War he served in Company G, Fourteenth Indiana Volunteers, and in the Fourth Pennsylvania Cavalry. After the war he married and resumed farming on his part of the old homestead. In 1880 he went into the insurance business in Pittsburgh, locating his family in Millvale (Bennett P. O.). In 1892 he was elected to the Legislature of Pennsylvania, and retained that position till 1896. He was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, and in 1898 he was chosen a delegate to the General Assembly which met at Winona Lake, Indiana, that year. He later held the office of Postmaster at Bennett.
