General Notes: Husband - Jesse Reno

He and his wife moved to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in the autumn of 1836, and settled on a farm in Jefferson Township. He established a tannery in Jefferson Township in 1843, and operated it for twelve years. They moved to Lawrence County in 1879. He and his wife were Methodists.

After some time spent in school, he learned the tanner's trade, and divided his time between that trade and farming after he settled in Jefferson township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He rose to be a personage of considerable importance and was a life-long Republican, his first vote going for John C. Fremont for President; although he was versed and active in politics, he was not an office-holder.
