General Notes: Husband - John Wareham

He was just four years old when he was brought to Bethel (then Allegheny) township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and the country was still wild and heavily timbered, deer and other game being still plentiful. He attended the log school-houses usually found in pioneer days. He grew to manhood, early becoming familiar with agricultural pursuits, which he followed throughout his active years. He kept up the old home place, and took an active part in the public affairs of the township, serving in the offices of supervisor and school director. He was for many years one of the leading members of the Bethel Lutheran Church, in which he held the office of deacon.
