General Notes: Husband - George Smith

He was born on the site where Petersburg, Pennsylvania, was later located. He received his educational training in the typical log schoolhouse of those days. In the winter time he devoted his attention to trapping and hunting and during the remainder of the year was engaged in farming on an extensive estate in Armstrong County. He was a gunsmith by trade and an expert workman, many of the firearms which he made long in use in the neighborhood.

He and his wife had eight children, of whom seven were still living in 1912.
