He located on what later became the George W. Thompson farm [in Indiana County, Pennsylvania?], in 1838, but in a few years, removed to Smicksburg where he engaged in the blacksmith trade. He and his wife and a portion of the family returned to Huntingdon County in 1854, where he later died.
