General Notes: Husband - Francis West

He emigrated from England to Ireland, and from there to America about 1754 and settled at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He filled the office of Justice and for some time of President Judge after the organization of Cumberland county. Some time before the Revolution he removed to what is now Perry County, and resided a little west of Falling Spring, on land later owned by heirs of J R. M'Clintock. Esq., on which he erected a large log building and stable. He also owned what was long known as the Gibson property, on which he erected a house and resided about 1765. The house and mill which he also owned were still standing in 1879. Here he lived till his death. He was an upright and well educated man, and though he differed from his neighbors on the political questions of the day, he was never charged with corruption or want of honor.
