He was reared and educated in his native town, came to America in 1872, and settled in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, in 1875. He was then in the employ of the National Tube-works company. He was a member of the K. of H. and Heptasophs; in politics a republican. He and his wife were members of the Episcopal Church.
