Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Shriver-Allison North Side Funeral Home for Mauntie W. Beckett, 77, of 1038 Rigby St., who died of a heart attack at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in North Side Hospital following a four-day illness.
Mr. Beckett was born March 13, 1888, in East Hickory, Pa., a son of Samuel T. and Hattie Lusher Beckett, and came to Youngstown in 1926. He had worked 35 years as a locomotive engineer in Republic Steel Corp.'s transportation department, retiring in 1958, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Besides his wife, the former Agnes George, whom he married in 1909, he leaves a son, Forest of Vienna Township; a sister, Mrs. Glen Fox of New Castle, Pa., and two grandchildren.
