General Notes: Husband - Plympton A. White


He was a soldier in the Civil War; was 2d Lieutenant of Co. D, 83d Regiment, P. V. I. He volunteered in 1861, and was subsequently made a signal officer. While on duty at Georgetown, Virginia, he was taken prisoner, and sent to Libby Prison, Richmond. Eventually he was transferred to a prison at Charleston, South Carolina, where he died after being 16 months in captivity.
