General Notes: Husband - Samuel McBride


He was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, came to Butler County with his parents in 1796, and there grew to manhood. He followed farming in Middlesex township, and both he and wife spent their lives in that county, dying on the old homestead. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal church, and in politics, he was first a Whig, and afterwards a Republican.
