General Notes: Husband - John Seidle


He came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, with his parents when twelve years of age, at which time he could not speak a word of English correctly. He spent the most of his life at farming in Pymatuning Township. He was a stanch Republican and belonged to the Seceders’ church.
He and his wife were the parents of nine children.

When a boy, he was bound out to Dr. Whipple, of New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was one of the assistants of Dr. Whipple in locating the Erie Canal and also the Wabash Canal. At the age of maturity he was married and settled on a farm near Clarksville, Pennsylvania. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian Church of Clarksville.
