General Notes: Husband - Charles E. Patton

He received his primary education in its public schools, but completed his literary course in Dickinson Seminary, at Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Beginning in 1879 he was engaged in the dry-goods business in the city of his birth, and was numbered among its representative and prominent citizens. He was reared a Republican, and always cast his ballot with that party, but cared nothing for public office, preferring to give his time and attention to business interests.
