KNOX — Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday in the Roy P. Stuart Funeral Home at Knox for Armour Bell, 87, of Knox RD 2, retired automobile salesman and oilman.
Mr. Bell died Monday evening in Clarion Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in the Knox area July 10, 1889, a son of Andrew R. and Carrie Armour Bell, and had lived in the Knox and Clarion area all his life.
For the past 18 months he had made his home with Mrs. Ed­ward Hurrelbrink at Knox RD 2.
Mr. Bell had a long and varied career in the sales field: As a teenager he installed lightning rods on many of the barns and houses in the area.
------------ and his father -------------- first salesmen to install electric fences in Clarion County.
For 35 years he was an automobile salesman for Randolph Motor Co. in Rimersburg.
In conjunction with his sales career he operated the family oil leases for many years.
Known to his many friends as Barney, he was a race car driver in his younger years.
Surviving are a son, Edward Bell of Knox; a grandson, William Bell of Knox, and two great-grandchildren.
His parents and a sister, Mabel Brooks, are deceased.
Friends are being received at the funeral home.
Rev. Ralph Romine, pastor of the Knox United Methodist Church, will officiate at the funeral services. Interment will be in the Knox Union Cemetery.
