Lawrence E. Seyler
Lawrence E. "Skeet" Seyler, 80, of Cranberry RD 1, died at 1:40 a.m. today in the Franklin Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Oil City June 29, 1906, a son of Eugene H. and Bella Swartz Seyler, and attended the Oil City public schools.
Mr. Seyler was employed by Snyder Brothers Roofing & Sheet Metal for 45 years, retiring in November 1969.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a charter member of the Hill City United Methodist Church.
Mr. Seyler was married in Seneca Nov. 25, 1939, to the former Dorothy L. Bell of Cranberry, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Gertrude Jones of Franklin and Elaine Quinn of Flint, Mich.
Mr. Seyler was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Seyler, Evelyn Seyler, Ruth Corney and Madaline Bell, and by three brothers, Wayne, Melvin and Thomas Seyler.
The family will receive friends in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The Rev. Lloyd Whitcomb, pastor of the Strattanville United Methodist Church, will officiate. He is former pastor of the Hill City United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.

Dorothy L. Seyler
Mrs. Dorothy L. Seyler, 66, of Cranberry RD 1, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the Oil City Area Health Center.
Born Oct. 14, 1921, in Cranberry, she was a daughter of John W. and Florence E. Lusher Bell.
Mrs. Seyler was a member of the Van United Methodist Church and the Cranberry Homemakers.
She was married Nov. 25, 1939, to Lawrence E. "Skeet" Seyler who died April 13, 1987.
Survivors include two brothers, Norman L. Bell of Cranberry and John Bell of Warren, Ohio; four sisters, Alice Kuhns of Franklin, Ruth Fischer and Dora Meehan, both of Seneca, and Lottie Stormer of Warren, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Edna Haniwalt, Leona Russell, Margaret Russell, Agnes Meehan and Inez Webber.
The family will receive friends in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. A. Pete Maihle, pastor of Van United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
