Franklin Deane Bell
Franklin Deane Bell, 81, of Warren Road, Franklin RD 2, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, July 12, 1998, in The Caring Place.
Born Dec. 2, 1916, in Ninevah, he was a son of Frank and Carrie Weaver Bell.
Mr. Bell was employed as an en­gineer by the Pennsylvania Rail­road, retiring after 37 years.
He was a faithful member of the Messiah Baptist Church.
Mr. Bell raised pheasants for the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
He was a devoted family man and enjoyed farming and restoring antiques.
Mr. Bell was married July 21, 1938, to the former Betty June Hart­man of Rockland. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons and their wives, the Rev. Larry and Elaine Bell, Jeffrey and Bren­da Bell and Franklin Bell Jr. and Christine, all of Franklin, the Rev. David and Ann Bell of New Castle and Robert and Karen Bell of Jackson Center; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Vicki) Rodemoyer, Mrs. Darrel (Judy) Hoffman, Mrs. Eric (Betsy) Cochran and Mrs. William (Cheryl) Coon, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Stephen ((Deana) Clulow of Cochranton; 34 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by two sis­ters, Mrs. Edward (Kathryn) Reighard of Clearfield and Mrs. Lyle (Eleanor) Beck of Ninevah.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bell was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Michael Bell; and a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Dorothy) Cotherman.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Huff Chapel, Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, At­lantic Avenue, Franklin. Mr. Bell's sons, the Rev. Larry Bell, pastor of the Messiah Baptist Church in Franklin, and the Rev. David Bell, pastor of the First United Brethren Church in New Castle, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery, Ninevah.
