Henry H. Bell, 86, a well-known resident of Franklin, who was engaged in the plumbing business here for many years, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday in the Franklin Hospital where he was admitted Sept. 8.
He was born in Franklin June 4, 1893, a son of the late Herschel E. and Louise Hogue Bell. He lived here all his life and had attended the Franklin schools.
Mr. Bell started his career in the plumbing business with the Thomas C. Clark Plumbing and Heating Co. Later he and his brother, George, managed their own business until 1939.
At that time, Mr. Bell formed Bell's Plumbing of Franklin and continued its operation until ill health forced his retirement, in 1968.
A veteran of World War I, he served with Company G, 17th Battalion in Europe. He had previously been active in Franklin Post, 476, American Legion.
An ardent fisherman, he knew much about the streams and good fishing spots in this area. He was also an enthusiastic gardener.
Mr. Bell was married to the former Neva F. Ferringer, Jan. 6, 1923, and she died April 9, 1975.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Joan) Davis of Franklin; a granddaughter, Mrs. Richard D. (Linda) Slater, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a brother, George E. Bell of Franklin.
A sister, Mrs. Josephine B. King, is deceased.
The family is receiving friends at the Huff Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted there at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Gibson Jr., pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry H. Bell, well-known for the plumbing business he operated here for many years, were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Huff Chapel.
Mr. Bell died Monday afternoon at Franklin Hospital. He had been a patient at Grandview Extendicare and was formerly of 608 Grant St.
The Rev. William A. Gibson, pastor of First United Presbyterian Church, of­ficiated and during the services read Psalms 23, 1:30 and 46.
Among those attending from a distance were Mrs. Richard D. Slater, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Barr and Miss Helen Blanchard, all of Meadville.
In recognition of his service to his country during World War I, the presentation of the flag ceremony was conducted by Earl D. Hazlett, adjutant of Franklin Post 476, American Legion.
Interment was at Franklin Cemetery.

FRANKLIN. Mrs. Neva F. Bell, 72, of 608 Grant St., wife of Henry H. Bell, died at 7 pm Wednesday in the Grandview Convalescent Home, where she had been a patient since last November 18.
A daughter of Harry Clifton and Hattie Biery Ferringer, she was born in Rocky Grove September 25, 1902, and had lived in the Rocky Grove-Franklin area all her life. She attended the public school of the community and graduated in 1919 from Franklin High School.
After graduation she attended nurse's training school at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was married January 6, 1923, to Henry H. Bell, who survives.
Her interests centered on her home, family and her church. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Crawford Sunday School Class. For many years she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Franklin American Legion Post.
Prior to her illness, she was a member of the Franklin Women's Club and had worked in the Hospitality Shop at Franklin Hospital.
Surviving along with her husband, Henry H. Bell, are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond E. (Joan) Davis of Franklin; a granddaughter, Mrs. Richard D. (Linda) Slater of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mrs. E. Wayne (Marian) Sigworth of Franklin.
A brother, D. Fay Ferringer, and a sister, Mrs. Guy C. (Ruth) Clark, are deceased.
Friends may call any time after 7 pm today at the Frank S. Huff Chapel.
