He and his wife lived in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, for some years after their marriage, in the spring of 1833 locating in McCalmont township, Jefferson County, where they cleared a farm, living meantime in primitive style.
They were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and he was a Republican.
