John E. Bell Sr.
John E. Bell Sr., 53, of 205 E. Seventh St., died at 12:15 pm Friday at his residence.
Born January 31, 1936, at Nickleville, he was a son of the late John B. and Amelia Cohlhepp Bell.
On June 14, 1958, he married the former Delores Persing, who survives.
He was graduated in 1954 from Oil City High School.
Mr. Bell had been an Oil City resident most of his life.
He was employed 33 years by Joy Manufacturing as a machinist: He retired in June 1988 due to ill health.
Mr. Bell was member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
He belonged to the VFW, Eagles Club, Polish National Alliance, Polaski Club, and Moose Club, all of Oil City.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Rick Bell and John E. Bell Jr., both of Oil City; a daughter, Kimberly Bell of Oil City; six sisters, Mrs. Ima C. Hackett of Oil City, Mrs. Howard (Marge) Findley of Vero Beach, Fla., Mrs. Waldo (Mary) Haniwalt of Oil City, Mrs. Richard (Ella) Stone of Oil City, Mrs. Donald B. (Jessie) Stover of Titusville, Mrs. Richard (Agnes) Rode of Pittsburgh; a brother, Robert D. Bell of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. Bell and Chester L. Bell; and a sister, Ada L. Wice.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Sunday at the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday at the funeral home. Rev. John Stevenson, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Lamey Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.
