Lemont D. Bell of Van died in Franklin Hospital at 6:55 pm yesterday.
Born near Knox June 6, 1912, he was the son of Clifford and Winifred Oakes Bell. He retired from Chicago Pneumatic Tool in June 1975 after working as an assemblyman in the valve department.
Mr. Bell attended the Van United Methodist Church and was a member of the Edenburg Lodge No. 550 F & AM at Knox, the Venango Lodge of Per­fection, the New Castle Con­sistory, and the Quarter Cen­tury Club at CPT.
On March 27, 1934, he married the former Mary Nunemaker. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Winifred Bell Alden of Van, one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Jones of Cranberry RD 1, and one son, Robert, also of Cranberry RD 1. In addition, two brothers, Carl Bell of Mansfield and William Bell of Cranberry RD 1, one step-brother, Earl Alden of Cranberry RD 1, two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Lois) Shaner and Mrs. Wayne (Hazel) Ken­nemuth both of Cranberry, and four grandchildren, Kathy and Bob Bell and Sheri and Jimmy Jones, also survive.
Mr. Bell's father and step­father, along with a step­brother, Merle Alden, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 pm Thursday with Rev. Richard Sayer of the Van United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Starr Cemetery in Ninevah.
