General Notes: Husband - William Bell


He was captain of a company in the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, battalion of associators, commanded by Col. James Burd, in 1776, and in active service in the Jerseys during that year, as also in the years 1777 and 1778. He was an ardent patriot, and influential in public affairs.

About 1799 he migrated to the new lands then opening in northwestern Pennsylvania and settled at Erie. From 1800 to 1813 he was associate judge of Erie County.
