General Notes: Husband - James Parker Leonard

He was reared at Parker's Landing, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and received his early education in the public schools there, later attending nor-mal school at Edinboro, and Allegheny Col-lege at Meadville. He was a highly cap-able business man, as he proved in the man-agement of his father's estate, and he was for many years, up to his death, a large oil pro-ducer, operating at Parker and in the vicin-ity. Outside of such interests he was essen-tially a home man, never aspiring to public honors or office. On political questions he was affiliated with the Republican party. [HAC 1914, 535]
