General Notes: Husband - Howard Johnston Benchoff


He attended the public schools of Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Waynesboro high school at the age of fifteen years, in the class of 1892. He taught school for two years, and in 1894 entered Franklin and Marshall College, from which he graduated in 1898. In 1899-1900 he was vice-principal of the Chambersburg high school, of which he was subsequently principal until 1903, when he entered Columbia University of New York City, from which institution he received his master's degree. He became principal of the schools at Breckenridge, Colorado.
In politics he was a Republican, and in religion a member of the Reformed Church.
