General Notes: Husband - William Porter

He came to Pleasantville, Venango County, Pennsylvania, from Rochester, New York, where he had been following his trade of potter, and established himself in that line at his new location, his pottery being situated originally on the west side of Main Street, opposite the Benedict home, but later removed to the other side of the street, below the opera house. Mr. Porter first lived in a hewed-log house which stood on a lot later owned by Dr. John Wilson. [CAB, 398]
