General Notes: Husband - Robert Wilson Brown, M.D.

He received his higher education in Thiel College, Greenville, Pennsylvania, graduating with the class of 1887. He then matriculated at the Chicago Homoeopathic Medical College and completed his course therein with the class of 1891. Desiring also to become posted in the knowledge of the so-called school of regulars, he entered the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Chicago, from which he was graduated in the fall of the following year. His first professional location was at Marseilles, La Salle County, Illinois, but after practicing there about seven months he returned to Greenville, where he has since been in constant practice. His professional work has been largely surgical and beginning from January 1, 1896, until about 1909, he was chief surgeon for the Pittsburg, Shenango & Lake Erie Railroad Company, remaining with that corporation until it was absorbed by the Bessemer & Lake Erie, of which he became the local surgeon. From July 22, 1903, until 1906 he acted as surgeon for the Carnegie Steel Company.
He was progressive and was widely known in the fraternities, being connected with Eureka Lodge No. 290, A. F. & A. M.; Mound Chapter, R. A. M.; Mt. Calvary Commandery No. 67, K. T.; Zem Zem Temple of Shriners, of Erie, Pennsylvania. He also belonged to Custer Lodge No. 469, Knights of Pythias, and Lodge No. 150, K. O. T. M.
