General Notes: Husband - James O'Neil


He was reared in Mifflin township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and began work in the coal-mines when twelve years of age. Soon after attaining his majority he managed mines for Robert McLure. In 1847 he embarked in business for himself at Fort Perry, later at Dravosburg, and located in McKeesport in 1850, where he was actively engaged in the coal business until 1888, when he retired. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. In politics he was a republican.
