General Notes: Husband - Henry A. Breed


He was a soldier in the Civil War, being a lieutenant in the One Hundred and Fifty-fifth Pennsylvania Volunteer Regiment. He was in the Army of the Potomac and served in the battle of Antietam and on to the surrender of Lee at Appomattox. After the war had ended he embarked in the manufacturing business for about fifteen years and in the real estate business a portion of twenty years along special lines. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic and Sons of the Revolution, joining the latter through his mother's ancestry. He was also a member of the Loyal Legion and of the Duquesne Club. He was one of the early members of the Shadyside Presbyterian church, of which he was a ruling elder and trustee.
